Big Time Choices

(but who are we to say)
Project with the 1st year MA students at EKAGDMA
2025

This year my class dealt with exploring practical questions around working as a graphic designer, specially focusing on setting up and running a practice. Over the course of the semester we had various practitioners come in to talk about how they work; alongside that students were encouraged to carry out their own research on specific matters that are relevant for them at this specific moment.

To share the findings we set up a website compiled and edited by the group, which offered various forms of writing on the issues the group found either collectively or individually relevant. A new text or resource was published daily, authored by the students, alumni and teachers of EKAGDMA. Alongside the daily posts an advice column titled Samantha Proud was set up, which offered answers to questions posted by visitors. The column advice was offered by teachers, guests and alumni of the department.
