Daily Theatre explores the ways people perform and communicate in public space, approaching everyday situations as forms of theatre. The project looks at gestures, interactions, behaviours and other forms of non-verbal communication that take place around us, asking how much of our daily life can be understood as a kind of performance.
These observations are collected through writing, photography and drawing, and combined with personal experiences and references. Together, they form an ongoing archive of everyday encounters, with the eventual aim of bringing the material together in a book. The project considers communication in a broader sense: as something expressed through bodies, gestures, objects, spaces, appearances and actions. The project uses publishing, performance and visual communication as different ways of observing, interpreting and making sense of everyday life.
