Asterisk Summer School is an annual summer programme based in Tallinn centred around various forms and practices related to graphic design. The summer school last for ten days and is made up of four workshops with international and local tutors and participants from different fields and backgrounds. In addition to the workshops architectural field trips, talks and a number of extracurricular activities take place, including a good amount of swimming and barbecuing. Each summer school has a different focus, either in the form of a central theme, selection of tutors and/or structure. The general goal is to investigate new or potential tendencies within the practice of graphic design, as well as exploring the peripheries of the field. All this is investigated both indoors and outdoors, always in an informal summery setting. So far four editions of the Summer School have taken place. ASS was set up by Elisabeth Klement and Laura Pappa in 2013. Website: www.asterisk.ee
